This workshop introduces the concept of predatory publishing and its impact on scholarly communications and publishing. Participants will learn how to identify questionable journals, understand the risks of publishing in them, and explore strategies for selecting reputable open access outlets for their work. The session will also highlight tools and resources available through the library to support informed publishing decisions. Ideal for faculty, students, and researchers preparing to publish or mentor others in the publication process.

- Recognize the characteristics and warning signs of predatory journals and publishers.
- Evaluate journal quality using established criteria and tools (e.g., DOAJ, Think. Check. Submit.).
- Understand the potential consequences of publishing in predatory outlets.
