Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Your safety is our priority. Snow and freezing temperatures in the Memphis area continue to make travel difficult. The extreme cold has also impacted the operation of the boiler unit serving several buildings on campus (GEB, College of Pharmacy, Johnson, Link, Wittenborg, Nash, Hyman, MSB, Dunn Dental). These buildings will be without heat and steam until limited boiler service can be restored. As a result, there will be the an Administrative Closing of the Memphis campus on Thursday, February 20 and Friday, February 21. Please monitor your email and the campus website for additional information.

Per our Administrative Closing and Inclement Weather policy, during an “Administrative Closing”, employees should report UAC (Unanticipated Administrative Closing) on their timesheet.

Students, faculty, and staff should proceed in accordance with the requirements of the Administrative Closing and Inclement Weather policy. A policy summary, contacts for non-Memphis campuses, and additional details can be found on UTHSC’s website. Please review your respective programs’ policies and procedures governing activities during a campus closure due to inclement weather.

For the latest information, faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to visit the University website at uthsc.edu, and look for messages via UTHSC Alert, our emergency mass-messaging system. Please take appropriate precautions and stay safe. Your safety is our top priority. UT Health Science Center Emergency Operation Center (EOC) will continue to monitor the National Weather Service for any up-to-date changes in the weather that could affect the campus and/or your commute.
