Research Impact Demystified
Event box

Impact factors, citation counts, scholarly profiles, oh my!
Join me for a 1 hour discussion of scholarly research impact metrics. We will discuss common metrics, their advantages and limitations, and sources for those metrics. We will also learn how to match metrics to purpose by looking separately at journal, publication, and author level measures. By the end of this workshop you should be able to:
- identify examples, purpose, and limitations of both common and alternative metrics, and sources for those metrics
- understand journal vs article vs author level metrics
- choose and compile the correct metrics for your purpose
- track and enchance your visibility and impact with online profiles and scholarly IDs
